Long time no see huh? Well, to kickstart this texture pack again, it was time for not just a BIG update, but an overall RENNOVATION to the look. ALL CAPS was very necessary.
First off, here’s most of the new stone blocks, including the workbench (Still rather WIP), and gravel. Cobblestone might get some tweaking here and there, but the style is basically done. An overall dusty feel makes the pack feel more unique, grey was so, default.
Next up is the new wood, all types, even jungle are now in. On top of this, the grass has an overall new design to it that should nicely complement the dusted world. Here isn’t exactly the best example, but check out the heartwood-coloured swamps! Spooky.
Finally finished up the iron block, along with every other gem block. Each one was designed to feel unique and have its own style for quick recognization. Iron looks like rusted metal bolted together, Gold is fancy, embossed symbols on smooth plates, Diamond is reinforced and elegant cyan slates, and Lapis Lazuli is a spotted, ornate block for desert-theme constructions.
Even at night, the dusty feel of the world remains. Though in the plains, the grass still looks somewhat green, the world still has a yellowed, aged feeling overall, none more obvious than the stone that surrounds this glowing pit (Stone might be darkened a little next time you see it.)
Finally, stone bricks are overall done, so here’s a bonus picture showing off how they look! Not bad, for my first try, can’t wait to see how these look in a real stronghold. (Pig!)
Stay tuned, the desert is the next theme on the way!
Since I forgot to include the stone slabs and felt some things needed changes… I decided to include a quick new snapshot of what I’m working on. You can see if basically looks like the original, but with a bit more definition. I also as a bonus, will show off the Iron Block, which basically resembles the slab, but appearing somewhat rusted and bolted together. You might also be able to spot the modified sand and grass, which probably won’t stay.
Not as much progress as yesterday, considering trying to redo a few things or nail a specific theme before I do this. A lot of this will probably change in the next days, depends on how I want this to continue.
Touching up stone bricks, and adding all the variations. Decorative bricks aren’t done, but the ones in Survival are basically finished, other than maybe being modified. On top, dirt is pretty much done, but I might wind up making it clay instead, it’s a bit too tile-y for my tastes, same with the grass and sand which other than that are done. The world is starting to shape up.
Bookshelves were surprisingly fun to play around with, each tome represents a unique block based on its colour, believe it or not. I don’t remember because it was randomly chosen though. On top, redstone is done (namely repeaters) other than more tweaking, I’m going to experiment with the idea of making it a more wild colour though.
The older images of the stone bricks was to see how they’d look in a stronghold-esque environment. Not sure how I feel about them.
(Also, I forgot to display the finished stone slabs, ffffuuuu-)
